Everything always changing
Everything always changes — in constant motion, even if subtly and not overtly perceptible to the naked eye. There is a constant transformation process happening where there is life. This is a fundamental truth which is often implicit in our understanding of the world, and which we often resist within ourselves and others in its more explicit forms.
It can be a freeing concept in challenging times, because everything changes and challenges morph into more desirable situations too. We sometimes cling to positive situations wanting to hold on to them in some capacity, because we know that everything always changes, yet hope that maybe this thing won't change, and seek confirmation and protection in our actions and thoughts.
That's an aspect of the practice of mindfulness — understanding and accepting that everything changes all the time, including yourself, and that you are okay in such a state no matter what happens. There is an underlying belief in oneself and others; a deep and subtle optimism and faith needed to maintain a positive and forward-looking state of being while also letting go of wanting control.
This seems a necessary mindset for not just surviving, but experiencing a life that is open, abundant, spacious, and steady in its unfolding.
