How Notion Pricing Plans Work - 2023 Notion Pricing Overview

Currently, Notion offers four pricing tiers:

  1. Free ($0)

  2. Plus (US$8/member/month when billed annually)

  3. Business (US$15/member/month when billed annually)

  4. Enterprise (US$20/member/month when billed annually)

The free plan is suitable for individual use, and up to 10 guests can be invited. The enterprise plan is the most feature-rich and advanced, offering extra admin controls and security for large organizations.

Before exploring each pricing tier and its characteristics, it's important to understand the difference between members and guests in Notion. Here is a detailed overview. Members are paid, while guests are free. You can invite unlimited members, but the number of guests depends on your plan (unlimited guests with the enterprise plan).

You can add members to your Notion workspace from the “Settings and members” section in the sidebar menu. Members have access to all pages under the “Workspace” section. You can control members' access to each teamspace granularly.

You can add guests to specific pages. Guests only have access to the pages (and sub-pages) they are invited to. You can view all guests (or remove them) in the dedicated tab within “Settings and members”.

Free plan

The free Notion plan is great for individual use, offering unlimited blocks, 7-day page history logs, and up to ten guests. However, there are some limitations: files must be no larger than 5MB, and inviting a member to your workspace will reduce the number of blocks available. Though this may seem like a limitation, it's reasonable to upgrade to the Plus plan for more collaboration features when adding a member.

Plus plan vs. business plan

The Notion Plus plan is great for smaller teams who don't need advanced page analytics or security settings. It allows up to 100 guests. For more than that, you'll need to upgrade to the Business plan (up to 250 guests) or the Enterprise plan (custom number of guests). The Business plan also gives you private teamspaces, a 90-day history log, and SSO.

As of February 2023, the Plus plan costs US$8/member/month when billed annually, and US$10/member/month when billed monthly. The Business plan costs US$15/member/month when billed annually, and $18/member/month when billed monthly.

Enterprise plan

The Notion Enterprise plan offers all the possible advanced security features, including audit logs, unlimited page history logs, advanced teamspace permissions, SCIM (user provisioning), workspace analytics, and a dedicated customer success manager. The Notion Enterprise plan is priced at US$20/member/month when billed annually, and US$25/member/month when billed monthly.

This concludes our overview of Notion's pricing plans as of February 2023, shortly after the introduction of the new Business Plan and pricing restructure. For more information, you can watch the video overview below, visit the official Notion pricing page or read this article.
